TRANSPORTATION |
| In the
area of ocean transport, the adoption of Decision 288 made
it possible to eliminate reserved cargo at the Andean
level, thereby reducing freight costs significantly and
increasing the hold capacity available for trade in goods. |

|
| The Andean
Community Member Countries apply Decision 582 to the provision
of scheduled and non-scheduled international air passenger and
mail transport services, both separate and combined, among their
respective territories and between these and third countries. |

MULTIMODAL
TRANSPORTATION |
| Community
provisions adopted pursuant to Decisions 331 and 393 regulate
multimodal transport operations in the subregion. These
provisions create the appropriate legal conditions for promoting
and boosting the supply and provision of multimodal transport
services. Furthermore, the Regulations for the Registry of
Multimodal Transport Operators were approved through Resolution
425 of the Board of the Cartagena Agreement. |
