Many of Ecuadors beaches on the Pacific are located near small towns and communities of fishermen who cast their nets before dawn. Same, Mompiche and Muisne in Esmeraldas; Pedernales in Manabí and Ballenita in Guayas are all peaceful, sunny beaches that enjoy a pleasant climate all year round. Jambelí, on its small island surrounded by small mangrove swamps in El Oro Province is just as lovely. Puerto López, at the entry to the Machalilla National Park, on the other hand, boasts exotic white beaches like La Playita, Tortuguita and Los Frailes. The entire coast is dotted with dozens of small beaches that offer peace and fun. Others near the urban areas like Atacames, Salinas or Manta, are filled with tourists in the summer and on holidays and weekends and offer comforts of all kinds.
