Useful data for the Route: Old Providence Natural National Park and Mc Bean Lagoon - Colombia
- Old Providence Natural National Park and Mc Bean Lagoon are located northeast of Providencia Island. The region rises from sea level to a maximum height of 150 masl. Temperature in the Park averages about 25 degrees centigrade and there is less rain between January and June.

- Water should be drunk only at guaranteed sites or purchased at any supermarket or drug store, put up in bottles or sealed bags.

- There is an automated teller machine on Providencia Island that accepts most credit and debit cards.

- There are several agencies on the island where cars, vans and motorcycles can be rented to explore Providencia Island and enjoy its scenery.

- Visitors can obtain information about visiting the park in the lobby of their hotels. It is recommended that tours be booked with a known tourist agency that offers safe and quality service.

- The Special Natural National Park Management Unit (UAES) of the Environment Ministry is responsible for this park, as well as all of the others in Colombia. Visitors must follow certain rules:

1. Because the ecosystem is fragile, no shells, coral or plant or animal material may be removed from the site.
2.The use of aerosols is forbidden and visitors are asked to carry plastic bags to throw away garbage that is not biodegradable.
3. It is important to keep to the interpretative paths marked by the UAES.
