Altitude:
The altitude ranges from 4 300 masl on the high Andean plateaus to 200 masl on the Amazon plain. The areas covered in the visits are, on average, at about 183 masl.

Climate:
The rainy season extends from December to March, but showers at other times of the year are not unusual. The months of May to August, when temperatures are above 30°C, are the best time of the year for the visit.

Tourists are recommended to always carry insect repellent and sunscreen with them. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants are advisable to avoid insect bites. Vaccination against yellow fever is compulsory. Other vaccinations can also be administered, such as those against malaria, tetanus and hepatitis A and B, and ambulatory treatment is available for leishmaniasis (uta) and malaria.
