Lodging
is available for researchers at the Rancho
Grande biological station. The entrance to the
station is about 20 km from Maracay, in the
state of Aragua, along the western highway. On
the southern slopes there are two recreation
centers with facilities for picnics and river
swimming.
One of them, Guamitas, is on the shores of the
Limón river, and the other, Las Cocuizas, is
6 km from Maracay, in the state of Aragua.
Along the road from Choroní and Puerto
Colombia there are many lodging places in a
unique colonial atmosphere of great beauty,
facing a beach of calm, transparent water, and
there are reminders of the old cocoa and
coffee haciendas. From there you can go by
boat to the village of Chuao, famous for its
cocoa. Continuing along the road towards the
Bay of Cata, there are also comfortable
lodging places in Cata, Ocumare de la Costa,
and Turiamo.

Recommendations |
|
Due
to its easy access by road, the Park is
vulnerable at the roadsides. Take the
necessary precautions, do not go into the
forest without a guide, respect the indicated
areas, and do not extract plant or animal
species. A special permit from INPARQUES is
required for staying the night and researching
in the Park.
