Before visiting a National Park, it is first necessary to obtain a permit from the Special Administrative Unit for the National Natural Parks in Bogotá at No. 20-30 Carrera 10, telephone numbers 3410676 and 2433095.
The Unit will make a series of recommendations that visitors must follow during their stay, the kinds of tours that are available and their schedules, interpretative paths to be followed and safety measures to be taken in order to avoid accidents. The services of a park guide can be hired who will allow visitors to make the most of their stay. The specialized guide will point out the different kinds of plant and animal life in the Park, which have given Colombia the reputation of being one of the countries with the widest biodiversity.
