Cangrejo (Crab Cay) and los Tres Hermanos (the

Park
plant and animal life
A
series of different trees make up the mangrove
swamps, the most noteworthy of which are cock
spurs, Pactá palms, resbalamonos, icacos,
coconut palms and rubber plants. Each one of
these trees shelters in its branches or trunk
different species of migratory birds, ants or
small animals typical of the region, like
lizards.

Activities
in Old Providence
The
park is open to the public until five in the
afternoon, when the last vessel sails from
Cayo Cangrejo. There the Natural National Park
Management Unit has fitted out a wooden
terrace where visitors can stop to rest, leave
their baggage and start the climb to the peak
of Iron Wood Hill along the interpretative
path. They can also dive around the cay and
enjoy the park’s ocean scenery with its
coral and fish.
