- Communications:
ENTEL, the state telecommunications company, operates a telephone network throughout the territory of the Jesuit missions, offering access to national and international direct dialing. Therefore, the network can be used for facsimile or Internet connection. Furthermore, ENTEL has plans to expand its cellular telephone network throughout the whole Chiquitanian region. A rural communication system via "DITER" radio is frequently used in the area. All the Jesuit mission sites get local, national and international television channels through municipal parabolic antennas capable of picking up satellite-transmitted signals.

- Access by Air
There is availability of air taxi services leaving from El Trompillo Airport (Santa Cruz de la Sierra) and going to the most important Jesuit Missions, which have landing strips controlled by AASANA, the national airport authority. Only San Ignacio de Velasco is served regularly by weekly TAM airlines (Transportes Aéreos Militares) flights.

- Access by Train
The Santa Cruz de la Sierra-Corumbá/Sao Paulo railroad passes through San José de Chiquitos, Roboré and Aguas Calientes. One of the recommended routes to visit the churches and historical sites of San Rafael, San Miguel and Santa Ana starts precisely from San José.
