> Altitude: Between 2 000 and 4 000 masl, depending upon the zone.

> Climate: Rainy during the summer months (December – March) and sunny from May to September, with few heavy showers. The temperature reaches a high of 27°C and a low of 11°C.

> Hire the services of a company with experience in the region or get the assistance of a forest ranger or a certified local guide. Guide service is not expensive and allows visitors to enjoy the knowledge and proverbial hospitality of the local people.

> Bring warm clothing, sun block and insect repellent.

> To avoid altitude sickness rest on the first day, drink plenty of liquids and avoid heavy meals.

> A stay of at least two days is recommended.
