Cuyabeno
Ecological Reserve
This is a humid
tropical forest region
that harbors a great
variety of animal and
vegetable species,
many of which are in
danger of extinction.
The river bank
vegetation is
extremely varied given
that its seeds are
transported by the
river and deposited in
distant places where
they subsequently grow
and adapt to new
conditions.
Access routes: To
enter the area you
must first reach Lago
Agrio and subsequently
choose to travel by
land or river. If you
travel by land, you
take the Lago-
Agrio-Tarapoa-Tipishca
highway; if you travel
by river, you reach
the Reserve by means
of the Aguarico River.
