The Intiraymi is
one of the most important events which is
celebrated every year in the parish of Ingapirca,
next to the Inca archaeological complex. It is a
thanksgiving rite to the Sun and the crops. The
activities start at 09:00 and end at 18:00. This
festivity includes music shows, dance, ancestral
medicine and fairs of native handicrafts and
typical food; it is developed in Ingapirca,
Caņar, June 21 - 23.

As
every year, the Sun Feast (INTIRAYMI) is
celebrated with the participation of cultural
groups from the Coast, the Highlands and the
Eastern Region of Ecuador; and igroups invited
from other countries who wish to share their
traditions and cultural values.
The
Feast Queens, known as Ņustas (ancient Inca
princess) are the ones who preside the
commemorative cultural acts.
There
are many groups that are invited and participate
with their shows of popular dances. They come
from all the corners of Ecuador.
Tourists
visit the Castle of Ingapirca every day,
especially during the sun festivity, for Summer
Solstice every June 21.
