city of Santa Cruz de Mompox is situated at 33
masl and enjoys an average temperature of
about 31 degrees centigrade.
Mompox can be
reached by land over the hard-top road running
from the town of Bogega and then crossing the
Magdalena. The ferry ride across the river in
a boat accommodating 300 people offers
tourists the opportunity to enjoy the beauties
of the landscape.
Small
commercial aircraft fly into the San Bernardo
Municipal airport by day.
It is not
advisable to wear jewelry or carry valuables
with you when touring the city.
