> Altitude:
Between 2 000 and 4 000 masl, depending upon the zone.

> Climate:
Rainy during the summer months (December to March). Sunny from May to September, with few heavy showers. The maximum temperature is 27°C, while the minimum rarely drops below 11°C.

> Hire the services of a reputable company with experience in the area or seek the assistance of park rangers or local guides. Guide service is not expensive and allows you to benefit from the knowledge and enjoy the proverbial hospitality of the local people.

> Sunscreen, insect repellent and warm clothing are recommended.

> To avoid soroche or altitude sickness, rest on the first day, drink plenty of liquid and don’t eat heavy meals.

> Spend at least 2 days on this route.
