This is an
advisory
institution of
the Andean
Integration
System, that is
comprised of top-level
delegates chosen
directly by the
representative
organizations in
the labor
sectors of each
of the Member
Countries.
The Andean Labor
Advisory Council,
at the request
of the Andean
Council of
Foreign
Ministers, the
Commission and
the General
Secretariat or
on their own
initiative,
express its
opinion with
regard to
programs or
activities of
the Andean
subregional
integration
process that are
of its interest
.
Today, the Labor
Advisory Council
is governed by
Decisions 441
and
464,
approved by the
Andean Community
Commission
pursuant to the
Guideline of the
Andean
Presidential
Council ordering
the attainment
of "fuller
participation"
by this sector
"in the
construction of
an integration
process leading
to the creation
of a common
market".
In its first
meeting, held on
December 3rd of
1998, the Labor
Advisory Council
adopted its By-laws,
which establish
its composition
and functions.
