SUBREGIONAL COMMITTEE ON SMALL AND MEDIUM INDUSTRY

The Subregional Committee on Small and Medium-sized Industry is made up of representatives of government agencies responsible for industrial planning and policy, trade unions, and institutions for the promotion and development of small and medium-sized industry in the Member Countries.  There are two representatives from each country.    

The Committee creates the coordination and cooperation mechanisms needed to achieve the following objectives:

a) Promote the development and strengthening of Small and Medium-sized Industry. 

b) Foster the harmonization of promotional policies and horizontal cooperation in programs supporting Small and Medium-sized Industry. 

c) Encourage more active participation by Small and Medium-size Industry in the integration process. 

d) Establish a coordination mechanism for execution of the Subregional Support Program for Small and Medium-size Industry.
