ANDEAN SME BYLAWS

SME development and promotion require the adoption of economic and legal instruments that will create a favorable environment and facilitate dialogue and consultation between the private and public sectors involved in their performance.

There is a need for Andean SME Bylaws, an instrument that will establish the parameters for preparing SME promotion and development policies in the Andean countries.

The objectives for establishing Andean SME Bylaws are:

a) Identify priority topics for development in order to enhance the growth, competitiveness and complementarity of Andean SMEs.

b) Coordinate proposed policies, programs and instruments for SME promotion and development in areas of common interest that will permit the sustained and sustainable growth of the goods and services producing sectors in the Member Countries.

c) Promote the participation of public and private actors involved with SMEs in order to coordinate efforts and realize initiatives.

d) Promote the harmonization of Member Country SME classification criteria to facilitate the implementation of Community policies.
