Resignation of the Andean Community
Secretary General
THE ANDEAN
COUNCIL OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTERS, IN AN
EXTENDED MEETING,
HAVING
REVIEWED AND CONSIDERED: Articles 17, 20 and
32 of the Cartagena Agreement; Articles 5, 6
and 13, paragraph c), of the Regulations of
the Andean Community General Secretariat
contained in Decisions 409 y 426 of the
Andean Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers;
Articles 6 and 7 of Decision 407, and
Decision 530;
WHEREAS:
Through Decision 530 of the Andean Council
of Foreign Affairs Ministers, at an extended
meeting, Mr. Guillermo Fernández de Soto was
elected Secretary General of the Andean
Community;
On October 30,
2003, Mr. Guillermo Fernández de Soto
presented his letter of resignation to the
position of Secretary General of the Andean
Community, effective as from December 31,
2003;
HEREBY
RESOLVES:
Article 1.-
To accept the resignation of Mr. Guillermo
Fernández de Soto to the position of
Secretary General of the Andean Community,
effective as from December 31, 2003.
Article 2.-
As from the date indicated in Article 1
above and until a new Secretary General is
designated, the General Secretariat shall be
provisionally managed by the Director
General with highest seniority in the post.
Article 3.-
To express the deep recognition from the
Andean Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers
and the Andean Community Commission to Mr.
Guillermo Fernández de Soto for his
excellent quality while performing his
duties, thus setting new guidelines to the
integration process.
