Aware of the decisive importance of mass media in the provision of information services,

Considering the need to count with an appropriate media of continental and world scope allowing the dissemination of the realities of our countries and their enormous economic possibilities, cultural richness, tourist attractions, variety of artistic expressions, as well as policies aiming at overcoming the big problems affecting them.

Taking into account the need to let our peoples and the world know of the effort and achievements of our integration policies and their profound human and democratic solidarity intentions,

Requiring an instrument that will allow us to link the Andean integration process with the rest of South American countries and with other regions,

AGREES:

To request the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to present the TELESUR company for studying the possibility of an Andean participation through the mechanisms and different forms of contribution contemplated in its bylaws. While an effective participation of such initiative is being made, the Andean countries may incorporate news of interest, information on their realities, films and documentaries to the TELESUR programming, as well as other materials that they may consider that it is important to disseminate.
