The NANDINA common nomenclature facilitates the identification and classification of goods, foreign trade statistics and other Andean Community trade policy measures concerning the import and export of goods.

TRANSIT CUSTOMS
Decision 617 on customs transit has been in effect in the Andean Community since January 2006, regulating the transit of both products originating in the CAN Member Countries and those imported from outside the region, through a single operation.

OTHER CUSTOMS MATTERS
In addition to the customs regimes mentioned, there are also common rules on customs inspections, mutual administrative assistance and cooperation among customs authorities. A consolidated customs document has been developed, but is not yet in use.  Furthermore, a virtual training program on customs matters is being carried out.
