Agua
Santa Hacienda
This is an old cocoa hacienda, which witnessed
the first processes of cultivation, production
and export of one of country's best quality
cocoas. Tourists can visit the cocoa

Río
de Agua Project
The project is located in the swampy savanna
of southern Paria, in the Río de Agua ranch.
It is one of the country's most successful
agroecological experiments, promoted by its
creator Wilfred Merle. It is a project for
raising buffalo in the swamps. There are some
800 head of buffalo that feed on reeds, and
their excrement is processed in a biogas plant
for use in the camp. The area also has a rich
variety of fauna. From here excursions are
organized to Playa Medina and the Agua Santa
Cocoa Hacienda.
