LABOR
MIGRATION
In June 2003,
the Andean Community Council of Foreign
Ministers at its Eleventh Meeting approved
Decision 545 "Andean Labor Migration
Instrument," through which Community
provisions are adjusted to the objective of
forming a Common Market and to the right of
Andean workers to move freely through
Community space.
At present, the
Advisory Council of Labor Ministers is
preparing the groundwork to draft the
regulations for that Andean Instrument, with
the technical assistance of the International
Organization for Migration (IOM).
