SECURITY AND HEALTH AT WORK

In May 2004, the Meeting of the Andean Community Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers approved Decision 584 "Andean Work Safety and Health Instrument" (which replaced Decision 547 in order to introduce regulations relative to the functioning and composition of the Andean Committee of Work Safety and Health Authorities), the aim of which is to promote and regulate the activities to be developed at work centers in Member Countries, to reduce or eliminate any and all damages to workers’ health through the implementation of control measures and the development of activities required to prevent work related risks.

In September 2005, the CAN General Secretariat approved the Regulations of Decision 584 through Resolution 957: Regulations for the Andean Occupational Safety and Health Instrument
